This project aims to support the establishment of a regional training centre in Southern Africa to strengthen the biosafety and biosecurity capacities of states in the region. It supports the Signature Initiative to Mitigate Biological Threats in Africa (SIMBA), a Canada-spearheaded collaboration between the G7-led Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. This portion of the project represents the contracting fees paid to the Canadian Commercial Corporation for implementing the contract.
