Published purpose

The applicant, the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail Association (ON) seeks funding to widen the trail to 3m (from 1.5-2m currently), for the 1.6km section specified, install additional wayfinding signage, and repair 5 access gates leading to/from the trail. The applicant states the benefits from this project will be improve accessibility for vulnerable populations (seniors), and improved connectivity to local businesses, and local public institutions. Improvement to the quality of the existing trail, making it more accessible by widening the tread from 1.5-2m to 3 m in width for 1.6 km between Sibley Ave Road and Emily Street North (attached map), installation of signage, and repair to 5 access gate.
