Published purpose

The objectives of developing bicycle parking guidelines will assist Regional staff, staff of Durham's eight local area municipalities, developers and other stakeholders with identifying best practices in providing bicycle parking facilities, locations and overall guidance of how to implement and manage high-quality bicycle parking infrastructure across Durham Region. This project will examine best practices in other similar jurisdiction in Southern Ontario and across Canada and make recommendations into how The Region can develop Durham specific guidelines. This planning project is the second priority planning project being submitted. The importance of developing amenities, such as parking, to support cycling is important to all residents and stakeholders in the Region.
