Published purpose
This project involves the construction of pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure on Dudley Street between Dawes Avenue and Spadina Crescent. This connection was identified as a high priority for the bicycle network in the Active Transportation Plan. It will connect residential neighbourhoods with both employment areas such as the West Industrial Area and recreation and park spaces and the Meewasin river valley trail network. Project components include: • Two pedestrian and cyclist-activated signals: 1) at Dudley Street and Dawes Avenue, and 2) Dudley Street and Avenue P. • One kilometre of multi-use pathway on the south side of Dudley Street in the industrial area from Dawes Avenue to Avenue P South including vertical curb and drainage upgrades. • 800 metres of neighbourhood bikeway (also known as bike boulevard) on Dudley Street in the residential area from Avenue P to Spadina Crescent which will feature: Curb extensions and Raised crosswalks • 1.25 kilometres of additional sidewalk; and • All applicable signage and pavement markings for the new cycling facility on Dudley Street.
