Published purpose

The Town of Port Hawkesbury has developed a two phase plan to provide a connection between existing AT facilities and destinations to incorporate multi-use modes of transportation in Port Hawkesbury, and to connect to destinations throughout the region and the Nova Scotia Blue Route The plan includes resurfacing, widening, and signage / amenity enhancements to provide a consistent user experience with other areas of the AT network. This project will also provide the needed Blue Route link to the existing cycling network. An outline of the project areas is provided below: - Sydney Road Connection, 490m - Pinecrest Drive Connection, 150m - Tamarac Drive Connection Detailed Design, 500m: A new multi-use pathway facility is proposed for this area which will help to promote accessibility and healthy living for residents and provide a safe off road facility for students walking and cycling to school Our intention is to proceed with detailed engineering and design for the multi-use pathway and street cross section changes.
