Published purpose

"The City of St-Jérôme’s transportation and traffic master plan dates back to 2005, and St-Jérôme has become the central city of Rivière du Nord MRC and the capital of the Laurentides region. This new status brings new challenges for the management of traffic congestion and parking problems. In addition, with the City of Saint-Jérôme being predominantly built up, adding new vehicular links or expanding existing ones is no longer the preferred option. New active transportation and public transit solutions based on healthy, less polluting lifestyles need to be developed and implemented for utilitarian travel. To this end, an update of the master plan in the form of a sustainable mobility plan will be developed; a request for proposals was issued and the contract was awarded on December 21, 2021. The sustainable mobility plan will be designed in conjunction with the update of the urban development plan to ensure effective linkage and will include a public consultation component to obtain more information about the potential travel to be considered for all of the city’s residents."
