Published purpose

The project aims to create three new active transportation bridges, and multi-use pathways to accommodate residents and local students and to improve network access. The two crossings: 1- the Riverside Trail & Lakehead University will add approximately 0.36km of trail and 2- the bridge at the George Burke Park/Light Ct. trail adds approximately 0.58km of trail to the network. The third bridge is located in Marina Park area and provides an additional 0.31km of trail. This crossing will also provide a significant opportunity for safe active school travel through reducing trip length and the need to traverse major roads as it connects River Terrace directly with one elementary school and indirectly with 3 others.
