Published purpose

"This project will construct the final section (approximately 1.6 km) of an all ages and abilities (AAA) bike route that will span from Okanagan Lake to Skaha lake in the City of Penticton, along with amenities along the route. The 6.5 km lake to lake cycling route is in the heart of Penticton, making it possible for cyclists of all ages and abilities to safely ride to key destinations, including schools, parks, trails, community facilities and shopping areas. The first two and a half sections of the route were constructed in 2021 and 2022 following extensive public engagement, the remaining half of the third section will be constructed in 2023, and this final section will upgrade existing on street painted bike lanes to the AAA standard and complete the route. It will also include important supporting amenities for this section of the route including a number of bike maintenance stations, public water bottle filling stations, improved lighting, and bench/rest areas."
