Published purpose

Cartwright-Roblin Municipality Active Transportation Project is an effort by the municipality to encourage residents and visitors to be active outdoors in a safe way. The project will include a school pathway, a pathway at Waldie Field/Heritage Park, and the Trestle Bridge project. Wayfinding signage from the main roads in Cartwright to locate the active transportation pathways will be installed. These two roads would be Broadway and Davidson. Signage would also be posted along the pathways to give direction to points of interest (trestle bridge), recreation areas/facilities (arena and curling club, community centres, Heritage Park and Campground, Heritage Village Museum, Waldie Field), and the business section, church, and school. Crosswalk signage would also be installed at Davidson and Broadway for the Trestle Trail project and across Bond Street for the school. Benches, garbage cans and recycling bins will be placed along the pathways and trails. Cartwright-Roblin Municipality secured extra recycling bins in 2021 with these projects in mind. Benches will be placed along the trails as well. In total, Cartwright-Roblin Municipal Active Transportation Project will increase active transportation area in the community of Cartwright by 2.73km.
