Published purpose

Works will retrofit the Ontario Works building to be more energy efficient and reduce energy consumption, as it is currently inefficient with high energy consumption. The retrofits will replace the doors and windows, repair areas in the walls, and provide better insulation within the walls and ceilings to prevent heat loss throughout. The upgrades will also install newer, more energy-efficient models to replace items such as lighting, heating units and ventilation (heaters and furnaces), cooling units, hot water tank, fridge, freezer, plumbing fixtures, etc. Improve resiliency to climate change and future extreme weather events, the works will replace the poor foundation the building sits on. The poor foundation is a risk to the integrity and longevity of the building in case of extreme rain, heat, or cold. The accessibility of this building will be improved by fixing the ramps and adding automated doors. This building will be renovated to include a 29% expansion.
