Published purpose
The construction of the Gorillas park aims at reintroducing a densely planted natural infrastructure in the heart of a very mineral and unstructured neighborhood in order to mitigate the risks of extreme heat in the Marconi-Alexandra sector. In addition to the complete conservation of the existing wasteland and ditch, the new infrastructure mainly includes the intensive re-naturalization of 78% of the site (planting of 3000 trees to create a mini-forest) and the integration of bioretention infrastructures for the ecological management of rainwater from the park and Waverly Street.
