Published purpose

This project involves engineering studies prior to the capital project to extend the Pioneer Trail to Douglastown, thus creating a link between Haldimand and Douglastown, running parallel to the railway. The project involves integrating a bike path and footbridge into the preliminary plans and specifications for the railway rehabilitation. The project will contribute to preliminary and engineering studies, cost estimates and environmental impact studies. In other words, the project will cover part of the planning/design costs associated with integrating sustainable mobility in this area, where planning and design work is already underway for the rehabilitation of the railway bridge and rail line.
