Published purpose

Frog Lake First Nations members have suggested that a dual walking and biking path that runs the length of the highway in Frog Lake would increase active transit in the community, thereby directly benefitting all community members who use it and indirectly benefitting others by reduced emissions. FLFNs will use planning and design funds to be able to conduct further community engagement on this initiative, including community mapping and design priorities, and undertake the necessary design work needed to ensure viability and determine cost of the project based on this engagement. This information will then be used to create a capital project application. Additionally, hosting community engagement workshops regarding this project will allow for the promotion of active transportation and allow the Nation to determine programs and other avenues for increasing physical activity among community members with the pathway.
