Gingolx Village Government (GVG)

Published purpose

Gingolx Village Government will complete an Active Transportation Plan. This plan will be a report deliverable that will describe methods that that the community can take to better support active mobility options. The intent of the plan will be to facilitate future active transportation projects that can reduce GHG emissions, increase the safety of the transportation network, and increase rural connectivity. The plan will include future sidewalk locations, typical sidewalk cross sections to define a standard of construction, and high level per linear meter costing based on those standards. The creation of the active transportation plan is expected to strategize key improvements in active transportation including identifying the locations of future sidewalk projects to connect major destinations in the community and improving pedestrian crossings to reduce pedestrian and vehicle conflict. This Active Transportation Plan will be formed through a mixture of detailed engineering analysis and community engagement to identify long term goals and prioritize specific projects. The proposed plan will help to identify which projects can be further developed into a “shovel-ready” state. Having this prioritized list of transportation network upgrade projects will help to support future grant applications and will help in connecting the community.
