Published purpose

The applicant is seeking to construct and expansion to the waterfront trail, connect the downtown to 8 Wing/Canadian Forces Base Trenton, and provide access to both Centennial Park and Bain Park. This project utilizes AT infra, such multi-use paths, and enhancements to improve AT user trip quality. Key outputs of the project include: 1.7 km new multi-use asphalt pathway, 2 accessible picnic tables, 7 benches, 6 seating areas, 4 bike racks, 1 bike repair station, 2 trail head markers, 1 gazebo, 100 new trees planted. Extending the waterfront trail will expand the municipality’s active transportation assets, create a link between major employment areas, and result in more opportunities for residents to shift away from motorized vehicles towards more environmentally friendly modes of transportation
