Published purpose

The project seeks to mitigate coastal erosion and flooding along the north shore of Crowbush Cove, PEI through rehabilitating the existing rock revetment, as well as implementing enhancements to the dune. The exposed rock revetment rehabilitation measures will include extending and raising the existing exposed rock revetment to protect against further erosion. The enhancements to the dune will include implementing beach nourishment, sand fencing and marram grass plugs along the existing buried revetment. The outcomes of the project will protect the shoreline and the surrounding community (including the sandy beach at Lakeside to the east of the project area), as well as enhance the longevity of the project’s existing assets such as the rock revetment.
