This project supports the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine, a multi-donor initiative designed in collaboration with the Government of Ukraine and participating co-donor countries. These countries include Canada, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland , the United States and the United Kingdom. The project aims to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s state, civil society, communities, and private sector in the face of Russia’s aggression. It also seeks to better prepare Ukraine for a smoother post-war transition and peace on Ukraine’s terms. This project operates along three mutually-reinforcing components: (a) Resist: fostering cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and citizens living in frontline communities and those in the government controlled areas and sustaining non-violent civilian resistance to Russian aggression; (b) Recover: addressing the early recovery needs of newly liberated communities through community engagement, and addressing local government capacity gaps; and (c) Revitalize: uniting communities and laying the foundation for Ukraine's social, economic, and political post-war transition to sustain long-term peace. Project activities include: (1) helping government coordinate and plan the recovery and restoration of public administration, education, healthcare and other community services and public utilities, such as power and water; (2) supporting local government to install air raid shelters and deliver social services and psychosocial support to protect citizens from the psychological and physical fallout of Russia’s invasion; and (3) working with civil society, government, the private sector and the media to address the invisible impact of the war and Russia’s hybrid tactics to promote a united Ukrainian identity.
