The project aims to provide free eye examinations to 40,000 students of 500 schools of the Dhule district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Project activities include: (1) mobilization of a team of experts and support staff for paediatric ophthalmology; (2) equipping and deployment of two mobile clinics; (3) provision of eye exams for girls who are dropping out of school; (4) counselling parents of sight impaired students; and (5) development of a training manual for teachers, student handbooks and an awareness video on how to maintain eye health.
