The project aims to support and enable community-led reconstruction activities that lead to sustainable and equitable economic and social development. The project is designed to establish and engender sustainable livelihoods, improve food security and well-being and prepare communities and households for future natural disasters, with a focus on vulnerable groups, such as women and single-parent households. The project's key elements include: enhancing sustainable livelihoods for targeted households and vulnerable groups; undertaking environmentally and economically sustainable community-based natural resource management; ensuring community infrastructure is in place to support sustainable and equitable economic development; improved and equitable food security and well being of households; and enhanced community-led disaster preparedness and humanitarian response.
