The Technical Assistance Fund is a multi-donor initiative that aims to maximize the potential of the Government of Tanzania's Health Basket Fund (HBF) by filling critical gaps in the quality of primary health care (PHC). It provides technical assistance to build government capacity in four focal areas: PHC financing; PHC quality of care; climate smart PHC; and evidence generation and use for PHC. The Technical Assistance Fund will help maximize the results of GAC’s Strengthening Tanzania's Primary Healthcare System (PHC) for Women and Girls project, which provides direct support to the Health Basket Fund, and in turn, the primary health care elements of the government’s Health Sector Strategic Plan V.
