The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - Canada Plan of Action Trust Fund aims to support activities that promote cooperation between the ASEAN and the Government of Canada in mutually agreed priority areas to foster an inclusive, prosperous, and resilient ASEAN region. The project seeks to contribute to Canada’s strategic objectives in the ASEAN, the ASEAN-Canada Plan of Action 2021-2025 and its successor documents, and ASEAN’s Community Vision 2025 and its Post-2025 Community Vision. It offers an agile demand-driven mechanism to provide timely funding for initiatives that respond to evolving needs, including inclusive economic development and sustainable development. Project activities include: (1) providing technical support and assistance; (2) providing professional services; (3) supporting cooperation in research and development; (4) supporting regional gender-responsive capacity-building; (5) training; (6) organizing multi-sectoral workshops; and (7) supporting knowledge exchanges. Targeted beneficiaries include ASEAN Member State institutions, regional bodies, civil society, academia, private sector, Canadian organizations, women organizations, and disabled people organizations, in alignment with shared strategic priorities.
