Objet publié
February 2013 - In September and October 2012, heavy monsoon rains resulted in extensive flooding in Sindh and Balochistan provinces, Pakistan. At their height, the floods killed approximately 450 people, affected over 4.8 million others, damaged or destroyed over 407,000 houses and inundated over one million acres of standing crops. With Canada's support, Save the Children is working to improve the access of severely flood-affected people to emergency healthcare in Jacobabad district, Sindh province, Pakistan. Specific activities include the provision of: primary healthcare services (including maternal, newborn and child health care services) in four health centres; screening and treatment for moderate and severe acute malnutrition to over 8,300 children under five years of age and 4,800 pregnant/lactating women; and, health and nutritional education in targeted flood-affected communities.
